It is sad that your father died of cancer. Lord knows I've had plenty of it in my family. And yes, i lost an uncle to cancer during the pandemic. It's a shitty thing to get because so much of it is not treatable or preventable. COVID WAS preventable, but it wasn't prevented because of an incompetent/corrupt president and his followers. My husband and i are both immunocompromised, and now we both have to work our retail and grocery jobs, listening to mask-less twats spout the same shit you are while they cough in our faces.
